About Tushabirane Aquira

In the quiet hills of Rushaga, nestled within the vibrant greenery of Kisoro District, Uganda, lives a bright-eyed little girl named Tushabirane Aquira, affectionately known by her family as Mabondo. She’s just four years old, but her spirit already speaks volumes beyond her tender age.

Aquira was born on November 1st, 2020, into a humble yet loving home in the small village of Nyamatsinda. Her parents, Friday Johnas, a security guard who walks miles each day to protect properties far from home, and Natukunda Odeta, a hardworking peasant who spends long days tending to other people’s gardens, do everything they can to provide for Aquira and her older sister, Akangarukamu Atricia.

Life in their village is beautiful but not easy. With little income and limited access to basic needs, the family faces daily struggles. Food is often scarce, and clean water is a luxury. Still, hope thrives in Aquira’s smile.

Every morning, with her small backpack and boundless curiosity, Aquira walks to Heart 2 Heart Nursery School, the precious place near her village where she can dream freely. She is in Top Class, and though young, she already shows signs of being a leader. She loves digging, not just in the soil, but into knowledge, the world around her, and possibility.

Her nickname, Mabondo, means “cheerful one” in her language, and it fits her perfectly. She sings to her sister on the way to school, helps her mother fetch water after class, and always finds time to smile, even when things are tough. Her favorite part of school? Learning how to write her name, she can one day write her own stories.

However, continuing her education is not guaranteed for Aquira. Despite their best efforts, her parents cannot afford the school fees, supplies, or daily meals she needs to stay in school consistently. Without support, Aquira may have to stop attending, and her dreams of becoming a teacher, a doctor, a light to her community, might fade away before they begin.

This is where you come in.

By sponsoring Aquira, you're not just giving a little girl a chance at education—you’re giving her hope, stability, and the tools to change her life, her family’s life, and her entire community. With your help, Aquira can stay in school, receive nutritious meals, receive healthcare, and most importantly, have the love and support of someone who believes in her.

Aquira is full of promise. Let her know she’s not alone. Sponsor her today, and be the reason her story becomes one of joy, transformation, and triumph.
