About Tukesiga Mugisha

In the quiet hills of Rushaga, nestled within the scenic beauty of Kisoro, Uganda, lives an 8-year-old boy named Tukesiga Mugisha. With bright eyes full of curiosity and hands always building something out of nothing, Tukesiga is a child who dreams big, even from the heart of a small village called Nyamatsinda.

Born on March 10, 2017, Tukesiga is the youngest student in the Top Class at Heart 2 Heart Nursery School, a beacon of hope placed near his village to give children like him a chance at a brighter future. Despite the challenges of rural life, he wakes up each morning with a spark in his heart and a hunger to learn.

Tukesiga lives with his loving parents, Mugisha Julius and Turyasingura Alice, who are hardworking peasants. They work tirelessly in the fields to provide for their seven children, including Tukesiga. Yet, with limited income and many mouths to feed, giving their children a quality education is a dream that’s often out of reach.

What makes Tukesiga special is his imagination and determination. He loves digging in the soil, pretending to drive, and building toy cars from scraps, his way of exploring a world he's yet to fully know. His siblings, like his sisters Tukamusherura Asingire and Ninsiima Busingye, and brothers Atuhere, Agaba, and Asiimwe, look out for him. But even among them, Tukesiga shines with a playful spirit and a kind heart.

Affectionately known as “Tukesiga” by his teachers and friends, he dreams of one day becoming someone who drives real cars, perhaps a mechanic, a driver, or even a pilot. But without support, his dreams may be limited to the hills of Nyamatsinda.
