About Musiimenta Regan

Musiimenta Regan, a bright-eyed 7-year-old with a warm smile and big dreams tucked behind his quiet nature. Affectionately known as “Ligani” by his friends and family, Regan lives with his parents and six siblings in the remote village of Nyamatsinda, nestled deep in the hills of Rushaga, Kisoro, Uganda.

Regan was born on September 22, 2018, into a humble Mukiga family. His father, Mutambuka Simon, works as a stone quarryman, requiring long hours and intense labor. His mother, Baryezo Vanis, is a peasant farmer, working tirelessly to put food on the table for her seven children. Life in Nyamatsinda is simple but challenging. Access to basic needs like quality education, clean water, and proper healthcare remains a daily struggle.

Despite the hardships, Reagan’s spirit is full of joy and curiosity. He loves playing football, especially chasing tires down the narrow village paths. He also has a passion for digging, singing, and playing netball with his siblings, activities that keep his heart full and his laughter echoing through the hills.

Regan currently attends Heart 2 Heart Nursery School, a small school built to bring education closer to children in this hard-to-reach region. He is in the Middle class, where he’s learning to read, write, and dream big. His teachers describe him as gentle, eager to learn, and always willing to help his classmates.
