About Kylie Shalom Byamukama

Meet Kylie Shalom Byamukama, a joyful and spirited four-year-old girl from the picturesque hills of Rushaga, in Kisoro District, Uganda. Known affectionately by her family and friends as "Kayili," she brings warmth and laughter wherever she goes.

Kylie lives in the quiet village of Nyamatsinda with her loving parents and older sister, Celine Nour. Her father, Byamukama Denis, works hard running a small local business, while her mother, Ninsiima Daisy, dedicates herself to the home and subsistence farming to provide for their family. Though they work tirelessly, their limited income makes it difficult to meet all of Kylie’s educational needs.

Despite these challenges, Kylie’s spirit is unwavering. She has a deep love for music—she lights up when she hears a song—and enjoys helping her mother with cooking, often pretending to run her own little kitchen with the biggest smile on her face. Her dreams are as big as her heart.

Kylie is currently in Top Class at Heart 2 Heart Nursery School, a beacon of hope recently established near her village to bring education closer to home. Here, she’s learning her ABCs, discovering numbers, and finding her voice through song and storytelling.
