About Kamusiime Ampere

In the quiet, green hills of Nyamatsinda village in Rushaga, Kisoro, Uganda, lives a little girl named Kamusiime Ampere. She is just 5 years old, but already her laughter fills the air, her curiosity is unstoppable, and her dreams shine brightly despite the daily challenges her family faces.

Kamusiime is currently enrolled in Middle Class at Heart 2 Heart Nursery School, a small yet hopeful place near her village. Every morning, she walks to school with a joyful heart, excited to learn and play with her friends. Her eyes light up when she talks about dancing, playing with baby toys, and “cooking” with her little pots and pans, an imagination that mirrors children's dreams everywhere.

But unlike many children, Kamusiime's opportunities are limited. She lives with both of her parents, Ahimbisibwe Alexander and Tumukunde Santrine, who are both peasants, working hard every day to put food on the table and keep their children in school. With four siblings, including her sisters Ekinahebwe Immaculate, Twikirize Kiconco, Akatukunda Ayebare, and her brother Niwamanya Kusemererwa, resources are stretched thin, and the future feels uncertain.

Despite these hardships, Kamusiime radiates joy and resilience. Her teachers describe her as a bright, playful, and energetic girl with a passion for learning and a heart full of kindness. But to continue her education and unlock her full potential, Kamusiime needs a helping hand; she needs a sponsor.
